RUINS

Once upon a time at the edge of the woods,
By the side of a winding road; there stood a palace,
With royalty, helps, antiques, treasures and animals all about,
Such a sight to behold; this pristine palace and everything about it,
King, queens and messengers from yonder would ride for days on end;
To experience the heart and soul of this wondrous palace, be part of its beauty.

One silent night when the palace lay dead asleep, the rival kingdom- full of envy;
Swiftly moved in and attacked this sleeping beauty; debauched her and set her ablaze!
Brighter and brighter did the flames light, rushing all over the walls and furniture eating them away,
Louder and louder were the screams from inside the walls; helpless and trapped inside this grim inferno,
Higher and higher bellowed the smoke as it rose; rushing towards heaven to gang up with the clouds,
As if trying to gather all the help they could to call upon the gods to come save this desperate scene,
The heat so immense; the screams dead and gone; the palace lay in debris, chars and ashes…
Then drop, drop, drop; drummed the rain, all so fashionably tardy! The irony of it all!

Once upon a time at the edge of the woods,
By the side of a winding road; there lay some horrid ruins,
With debris, chars, scavengers, bandits, harlots and ghosts!
Its sight sends shivers down one’s spine; misery is evident in this place,
Lepers, robbers and wizards come from wherever to debauch in this ruins,
To plot agony and brew up chaos; this ruins have become a temple of profanity.

One beautiful morning as the sun snuck up on the earth,
It graced its rays and blessed its light upon the ruins,
So hard did it blaze upon them; exposing all its deep dark secrets and fears!
Ghosts from the hellish inferno released and the scars of the once pristine palace;
Healed by the marvelous glow of this element from a faraway place; a magical paradise!
All the sacrilege, plunder and supreme darkness had no choice but to pack their bags and depart,
Then softly oozed a rhythm pulsing through the ground where the ruins lay; so distinct this beat of life.

Once upon a time at the edge of the woods,
By the side of a winding road; there stood a palace,
That fell from grace at the hands of sinister forces from the pits,
Along came an angel of the light and resuscitated the ruins from the palace,
Giving it the breath of life and restoring its immaculate innocence,
Now at the edge of the woods; by the side of a winding road,
Lives an enchanted meadow adorned with life’s beauty;
A simple paradise that exudes love, joy and serenity...

Chapter 3: Lips of Tate

Fast as her feet could bear her weight ran the girl; through the trees and the boulders in this hell of wilderness she’d found herself in. This running needs to stop! She thought to herself, but deep down she knew a life devoid of thrills is just not viable! As she sped through the trees she could feel the breeze getting stronger and unusually clingy-like being trapped in the middle of a whirl-wind! An even stranger feeling came over her; like she was running on a bed of air, as she looked down to confirm that her feet were still grounded she could barely believe what eyes beheld- her feet were not only well off the ground; she was also miles off the comfort of the earth! Panic stricken-heart racing she lost all control to the point of tripping. It was quite funny this feeling of falling forward into nothingness and then floating through the air as if in a dream, which was quickly cut short by the horrifying feeling of helplessness in the free fall that followed! Faster and faster she rushed closer to the ground; the harsh realities to grim to bear she shut her eyes and waited to crush into the earth and hopefully swiftly enter the next life. The moment to kiss the earth ever so heavily not forthcoming; she opened her eyes and to her amazement she was flying through the air in a manner quite controlled and intended through trees, over the lake and creatures of the earth then finally she lands softly upon her feet when she quickly realized she was too to light headed to stand as she keeled over immediately! As her head hit the ground she watched him materialize from whirl wind, he slowly spun into stillness and faced her; he had this suggestive look and wore a sheepish smile that didn’t even fade as he mouthed his words “I am the wind, watch me dance…” then spun off into nothingness!
Quite startled; the girl woke up in a fright, she found herself in her little make-shift shelter surrounded by darkness and now shivering from all the sweat gone cold. That dream was just too real to be ignored. She took a short walk to the stream right by her shelter and slowly walked in to its cold gently flowing water; a swim always calms the nerves and relaxes the mind, she thought to herself. She swam for a while till she heard the wind howling through the trees and roughing up the leaves as it rushed by, she looked around for signs of human life but it was just the trees, the creatures of the night and the full moon. She walked off the stream and went into her shelter to try and get some rest before the break of dawn; just as she was slowly entering a state of slumber she heard some voices not so far off. Voices in the heated rhythm of an argument; sounded like two males and one females, on and on they went at each other. The voices knew no relent, out of curiosity she stepped out of her shelter to go closer and see what the excitement was all about. As she snuck through the bushes she could hear the voices escalate to beastly aggression; twas quite a quick fight in which one of the males attacked and from the hauls probably injuring the other then taking off to let the third party handle the victim. At this point the girl had a mind to turn back and head for her shelter as the aggressor was clearly at large! As she softly treaded back to her shelter; she was surprised by something flying off the dark bush and pouncing on her! This monstrous creature that looked like a cross between the most unnatural beings above her clearly contemplating murder! Too shocked to move or even defend herself from this thing that she still could not fathom; and its nerve to still be chocking her to the point of delirium then took the liberty to claw her from her neck to down to her chest right above her heart, then left her for the grim reaping angel of death! As the blood sipped from near lifeless body into the earth; she sunk into a deep unconsciousness that very closely bordered death.
When she awoke; she found herself in dense darkness on a rock by the river, judging by the crescent moon she’d been out for a number of days! And she had this crazy thirst that needed to be quenched instantly, how convenient to have a river at my disposal. As the stood she could feel the breeze caress her shoulder as it passed by; she thought nothing of this, so she walked to the eddy she knelt down and cupped her hands to collect some water and she drunk greedily at first then on the next hand full she was a bit more controlled. As she bent over to take the third she noticed her shadow in the water; more importantly she noticed that the iris in both her eyes glowed in the dark and reflected in the water! Very startled she fell back to ponder what she had just seen; something most unnatural had happened to her! Was she even alive? She wondered as her mind raced through all possibilities! Then she felt the breeze sneak up on her, round and round it spun around her; suddenly the stone from the sun, the marks from the moon, the earth beneath her feet and the wind around her seemed to connect her to a beautiful reality! The gates of wisdom had flung open and solved the mysteries of her existence and lack of identity; like falling into a sea of wisdom and drowning in its awesomeness! When she stepped out of the trance, she noticed the while wind again; and without fail she watched him materialize from whirl wind, he slowly spun into stillness and faced her; he had this suggestive look and wore a sheepish smile that didn’t even fade as he mouthed his words “I am the wind, watch me dance…” then spun off into nothingness then as the breeze went past her, “won’t you come dance with me?” it whispered into her ear then rushed on.

The Sensual Promotion

On a warm Sunday afternoon,
I find myself strolling around the hood,
Bump into my neighbour; this lovely lady,
Who invites me to this quaint event;a tea party!
So I follow her into this enchanting paradise of a home,
Lots of lovely people at this gathering;a bit overwhelming,
No matter; meet and greet the lovely fellas we must,
What good is a life devoid of thrills and chills?
Then this buzzing noise creeps upon us!
“Vibrator on the loose” yells this pretty girl!
“Calm down woman, it just my phone” says I,
Off to the corridor to respond to this vibration,
The lady on the line; her conversation knows no end!
Finally there’s an emergency exit from the phone conversation;
I hit escape and jump out of it into this beautiful reality! *sigh*
Turn off this life stealing contraption and walk towards the party,
Just as I approach the living room entrance; I bump into her!
This gorgeous creature amid a random conversation,
Her smile so magnetic; makes me blush…
Her eyes so intense; like jumping into a waterfall,
This feeling, I can’t explain; it’s like momentary insanity:
The glance lingers for a moment; I’m sprung into a wonderland,
I walk past as does she, and we move on to the normal stuff…
The conversations keep going and the drinks keep coming,
And again I find myself seated next to Ms. Gorgeous!
Small talk evolves into deep soul searching session;
Where each word escaping her lips seduces my thirsty soul!
Even the most unconscious touch electrifies my system.
Then I realize just how far gone I am with this amazing creature,
And it scares me; all I can think about is running away from it!
Running away to the land of make belief where all endings are happy,
“Hey, baby girl; are you alright?” says Ms. Gorgeous
Snap back woman! “I’m good, I just need some more tea” said I
In a frantic rush I walk into the kitchen to escape this crazy intensity,
What are the odds that her royal gorgeousness would shadow me?
Fix my tea and spice it up with some good old ‘poison’,
Head to the balcony to star gaze with the Ms. and her 21 questions,
Talks go on and at some point amidst all the words floating about;
Voices retire, lips are employed; the sensual promotion!
Mind blown by stolen kisses from the lips of a goddess,
“My word” I thought to myself, “there’s no turning back!”
In her tight embrace; I drowned myself in her being,
Hearts pounding, blood rushing, thoughts distorted!
This feeling so insane; like getting shoved from a cliff top!
Knowing that you have absolutely no control over this free fall,
The intensity there after; submerged in the ecstasy of liberation,
Where all senses seem to be operating at an advance level,
Even the wind seems to be whispering; cheering us on,
As if all this is just not enough; she climbs on to the edge,
“Come join me” she beckons; her eyes all so playful,
How could I possibly decline this offer form an angel,
I climb onto the edge to join her; heart throbbing and all,
She grabs my hand and jumps off the freaking balcony! *gasp*
I find myself too shocked to even dare scream for help,
This flight takes its sweet time! All my adrenaline used up…
I have to accept this reality for it cannot be rewritten,
This fall is fast and furious; finally I hit the ground,
Wait! It appears the ground is liquid and engulfing my form,
I seem to be sinking deeper in these unknown waters,
In a bid to survive; I relax and find my way to the surface,
My eyes are graced by this breath-taking waterfall!
So intense is this magnificence! Its flow so passionate,
Here I am, flung back into this sobering reality;
Phone in my hand, bewitched by your sweet gaze,
The waterfalls in your eyes; they drown me,
Submerge me in the land of make belief,
Where this; sensual promotion, is a reality…

La Dolce Vita

She may have cursed us all into eternal damnation;
But I think she was on to something…
Or rather she was helpless to it all,
What’s a girl to do in the face of sweet temptation!
That forbidden yet juicy apple must have been worth the pain,
We all try to ignore it or run away from it,
Hot on our heels we run then around the corner;
We bump into this menacing temptation!
And it knows that you’re trying so hard to keep away!
I guess there aren’t enough dark corners in the world…

So here I am; facing this conniving serpent!
All those years spent running and hiding,
Have culminated to this moment of truth…
The moment when I realize I can no longer run!
There she was dangling this fruit so ripe and juicy,
I’m left with only two choices:
Walk away and then spend my entire life in purgatory!
The purgatory of wondering what could have been…
No! I refuse to live like that! I cannot live like that.

So I grab the apple and take a bite! A big juicy bite!
I find myself indulging greedily on this sweet temptation,
Shoving it down my throat, entranced by this fruit so forbidden,
This feeling I cannot describe; myriads emotions exploding simultaneously!
Every inch of my being is ecstatic; overwhelmed by this twisted satisfaction,
Engulfed in the depths of passion; I find myself helpless to its supremacy,

I heard that the road to hell was paved with good intentions…
Well I beg to differ; it must be paved with lustful gluttony!
Every bite I took sprung me closer to these flames of liberation,
So intense is this heat there is no room for cowardice,
I give in to it; my wall of resistance all torn down…
So fulfilling is this moment; the culmination of all my fears,
Turns out to be an orgy of a thousand emotions in an orchestra,
Where Love is the conductor; their music so mind blowing!
Starts of in a soothing manner; where all the flutes play,
Then the strings come in and they hit the cymbals now and then,
Then the drums and bass intrude in a manner so smooth,
Enslaved by this music; the crescendo so overwhelming!
I drown myself in the ecstasy of this sweet temptation,
My entire being drunk from enchantment,
And relished by this lascivious rhapsody

I Am

So the creator looked at it and said it was perfect!
Meanwhile here I am thinking of all the ‘Improvements’!
For instance; I need a 48hr day…
24hrs is just not enough!
In ‘our current world’; I feel the need to:

Wake up early and work out.
To balance all the toxins I abused!
With or without my knowledge
Oh! And to keep fit and all…
Go to work to support my lifestyle,
Bond with people coz I can’t help myself!
Do some writing to inspire others!

Writing keeps me balanced!
It completes me.
Like smashing things upon a wall or with a club,
Or running headless- screaming all over the place…
Only less obscene or damaging!
Then I also need to play! Yes indeed!

I need to walk up, down, round and about!
I need to submerge myself in a mass of water!
I need to be where the untamed wind is!
I need to get scorched by the sun!
I need to glow in the moon!
I need to light my soul on fire…

All night; all day!!!
I need to be me!
You may frown or attempt to chain me,
But even you know; you need to be you!
Why can’t we just be! Just live and be us?
Is it that hard?
I no longer care for opinions!
I just want to be…me.

The Moonrock (part 2)

And there she was fiercely fighting for her life with this creature of a woman, Lithia; trying to suck the life out of the girl while Imani watched in disbelief! Finally he snaps out of it and rushes over with a log and hits Lithia on the head with it! She flew off the girl and caught Imani by the neck and dragged him across the ground for a few meters; then at the halt she whispered to him.
“So you like to swing logs at women?” Lithia hissed, “That was probably the most foolish thing you could do!”
She moved her lips really close to his face and drew his breath. He could feel his life force flowing out of him and to this creature; his whole body was getting cold fast and he could feel unconsciousness smoothly taking over! Swiftly the girl slide her dagger across Lithia’s neck leaving streams of blood rushing towards her chest, enough distraction to save Imani. Lithia, disoriented for a moment bent over to the ground choking on her blood! A minute later she stood up straight ready to strike with fierce vengeance, her neck good as knew; like she didn’t even have a throat slit a minute ago!
“Damn her!” thought the girl, “At this rate I’ll need silver bullets to down her!”
There stood the girl posed to pounce at this reptilian creature now moving in for the kill. Just as Lithia was about to strike she was distracted by a familiar call, she looked we’ll petrified by it. On the second call Lithia flew off and disappeared into the darkness!
“Imani! Imani!” she yelled as she shook him vigorously
“Where is she?!” inquired a startled Imani
“She flew off” explained the girl, “There something looming about. Whatever it is gave Lithia a real good fright! We must go now.”
“That doesn’t sound very brilliant but I suppose it’s better than staying here waiting for death to liberate us!” mumbled Imani
So they set off avoiding thick forest areas and trying to stick onto a path whose end they could only hope would turn out to be favorable! Even in the solid darkness she could feel the eyes hidden behind the trees escorting them through the forest; watching their every move. Then finally the screams drew closer to them and they embarked on to a mad dash so safety! As they got to the clearing a dark shadow came over them.
“What the devil is that!” shrieked Imani
“I have no idea” whispered the girl in awe
This dragon like creature swiftly descended upon them and a young boy with tattoos all over his bald head reaching to his back appeared from the dragon like creature back! His eyes were luminous and his voice still.
“The oracle of the moon has sent me to fetch you!” said the boy
“I’ve had it with this enchanted forest and all its freaks!” declared Imani
“We have to go with the boy” said the girl “I need to consult this oracle”
“Have you just forgotten what a mess following the creatures of this forest has put us through?” asked Imani
“I’m going with the boy” insisted the girl, “feel free to come with me”
The mounted the dragon like creature and off into the skies they flew! Over the forest and the sea; it was beautiful! The boy didn’t talk much he just steered the dragon like creature over the sea. Then suddenly they took a tailspin towards the sea! They falling fast and hard, with each second the water drew closer to them!
“What are doing?” demanded Imani
“We’re going to see the oracle.” Responded the boy
“Is the oracle in the afterlife?” asked the girls concerned about their impending death
“You need to trust your journey” replied the boy with a conviction laced voice
Even before they could air more grievances they all took a plunge into the water and they went deeper and deeper into the depth of the sea and into a coral cave! It was a beautiful place with beautiful patterns on lining the tunnel and sparkling gems floated in the tunnel to light their way!
“How can this be?” asked the girl “Such magnificence where no one can reach!”
“I’m more interested in the fact that we are still alive at the depth of the sea! Shouldn’t we be drowning or something!” mused Imani
“The world is indeed full of wonders” thought the girl
As they went deeper into this underworld they got to a landing paved with pearls and in the distance the could see a temple like structure made of pearls and so many glowing gems floating around it that it dazzled in a manner so magical!
“This is as far as I go” said the boy “the journey is yours to conquer.
“Is that fancy place where the oracle lives?” asked the
“That’s where she consults Luna; it’s a place of thanks giving for all” replied the boy “we don’t need walls to confine us here.”
So they set off towards the pearly temple taking in every amazing detail of this paradise. The universe is just but awesome; how beautiful it is to have kingdom under the sea! A place where people were not confined by walls, where everybody had nothing to hide! And the only walls were the pearly arches that adorned the thanks giving shrine. As they drew closer to the pearly shrine there was a coral tunnel; a really dark tunnel. The girl walked on and as she was about to get in to the tunnel she realized Imani wasn’t beside her. She turned back and there he was rooted to the ground.
“What’s the matter?” she asked
“I don’t want to go in there” replied Imani
“It’s just a tunnel and you saw where it leads” said the girl “It looks quick and painless!”
“All we’ve been through is just too overwhelming for me! Replied Imani in distress
“We’ll we can’t stay out here forever, the only way out of this is by getting to the other side” assured the girl, “besides, I’ll take care of you, like you took care of me”
She smiles and holds out her hand; he takes it and the walk into the tunnel. So dark was it that they had to feel their way around. The walked on for a while when suddenly it got really cold, they walked on for a bit and it felt as if they were walking in circles.
“This is not right” thought the girl “this didn’t look that long a tunnel”
“Darn it your hands are cold!” said Imani
“How can you tell?” asked the girl
“Because they’re on my neck and freezing me to death” retorted Imani
“Imani I’m only holding your hand and my other hand is groping the wall!” said the girl her voice betrayed her deep concern.
Suddenly she too felt a cold caress on her face and instinctively she ejected volts of energy from the sun stone embedded on her palm causing a flare of dazzling light and excruciating scream from this creature as it received volts of energy. In the entire glow it was impossible to miss all the ghouls creeping about the walls!
“We’re surrounded!” whispered Imani
“I noticed” whispered the girl back
The ghouls were closing in fast and she knew they were definitely out numbered! One by one they fought them off but they were just too many and there are only so many surges of energy the girl could emit in such short span of time! Then one of them grabbed her! So cold was its touch and she could feel it draining her power! And it occurred to her that there comes a time when physical strength is just not enough to help you out of a fix; so she chanted a prayer invoking protection from the creator. As she chanted she could feel water trickling in, it was rising fast and the ghouls were retreating into holes in the walls! But the water kept rising and the both had to tread in it just to breath!
“What was that you said about drowning earlier!” the girl mocked
“So this is how it ends!” shrieked Imani
“I think we’ll get out of here if we find the source of the stream before it’s too late!”
So the swum around the cave till they finally got to the source of the stream and as sure as death the found they found their way out of the treacherous tunnels! They were too busy catching their breaths and celebrating life to notice that they’d made it to the pearly temple!
“I can’t believe we’re still alive!” said Imani
“What do say we go into this fancy place and give thanks!” teased the girl
So they walked into the magnificent temple; it had such beautiful arches that let the breezes in and out freely and the finishing was just so enchanting. The walked on to the altar and she went on her knees, closed her eyes and spoke to the creator. When she was done, her eyes were graced by the most beautiful woman she’d ever laid eyes on! She blushed and broke the gaze.
“I’ve been expecting you for a while now”, Said the oracle “you’ve done well; conquered you journey with such passion”
“Thank you but I couldn’t have done alone!” explained the girl “my dear friend Imani and the creator walked with me on the journey not to mention you came to our rescue in the enchanted forest- thank you kindly”
“Your modesty amuses me” smiled the oracle “I have a gift for you; Luna thought it would be fit for a passionate seeker like yourself”
“I’m flattered” said the girl.
So the oracle asked the girl to lie down, she placed the Moonrock on the girls navel and asked Imani to join them the all held hand and the oracle chanted a prayer which as if by magic caused a luminous tattoo to grow about the girl’s body! From the right side of her navel the tattoo grew down to past he hip and right cheek and around her thigh; from the left side of her navel it grew upward past her ribs round her back up her right shoulder and neck behind her right ear to her temple into her eye. When the chanting was done the rock ceased to exist; when the girl opened her eyes, her pupils had changed colour, they were silver like the moon! It was clear that she was one with the moon; a Moonrock to unlock our minds and illuminate our thoughts.

THE FURY

One of those awesome days,
When I manage to get off work early,
Thanks to a ‘technical hitch’ at K.P.L.C,
All I can think about is dashing by the supermarket,
Grab some dinner and some of that nice wine,
Then get home and surprise this lover of mine!
Darn it, this lover of mine… I’m so obsessed!
So I finally get home and rush through the door,
Drop the shopping on the kitchen counter,
And move on to the adventure of finding my love,
As I walk out of the kitchen I hear voices…
These voices sip through the walls and dance in the air,
Yes that awkward moment when there’s sounds of love-making,
In your home yet you’re not invited to the party!
Every breath I take is laced with impending infidelity,
Heart pounding; rage growing; blood boiling…
Every step I take towards the voices;
My heart sinks deeper into a cold darkness!
Finally I face the fear; this show of passion,
My lover and another; intertwined in ecstasy!
What’s a woman to do?
The betrayal is just too much!
The numbness afterwards; so soothing!
This lover, no longer mine…

The Moonrock

This beautiful song of the sea; the rise and fall of its body in a manner most calming, the loud whispers of the wind rushing over the water is just phenomenal, for most people I suppose because currently there’s a boy intensely hurling his guts out into the sea! In deed the beauty of the sea is not for everybody’s eyes or should I say that it’s not meant for the faint hearted.
It’s well after dinner; some fellas on the yacht are making merry with some rum, other passengers are first asleep while the sea sick victim is in the corner experiencing the shakes with a bucket close at hand, judging from the look on his face, he must be cursing the whole experience. Meanwhile, the girl is on deck star gazing and wondering about this journey; how long it’s been and how many more days it will take before she gets to the island where she’d consult the old oracle about the whereabouts of the Moonrock among other burning issues. Much as nature guides it seeker, the seeker needs to hunt down information like some valuable treasure chest. In deed knowledge is power.
“Enough stargazing and fantasizing, better get some rest for tomorrow is another day.” Thought the girl
She walked over to her sleeping quarters and quietly slipped into bed so as not to wake the rest. The rocking of the boat was quite soothing and before she knew it; she had floated way into dreamland. Her dreams were filled with funny creatures of the sea, some seemingly extinct, the moon looking so lovely in its silver glow stroked the waters in a manner so graceful and the wind sweetly swayed the trees. She ran across the white sand bare foot playing with the waters and the peculiar crabs; everything at this moment was simply beautiful. She lunged forward to grab a huge crab and as she played with the strange creature she noticed the wind seemed to blow with a certain fury; as is somebody had angered it! She turned around to face the sea and everything had simply flipped around! Dark clouds now hid the moon, the wind was screaming like a banshee and there were humongous waves rushing towards her; she could almost make out ghostly faces with hollow eyes and a monstrous moth from the tides gaining on her! She quickly took to her heals faster and faster she ran but suddenly she was swallowed by the sea, her eyes now wide open to the disappointment of the reality; this was not a dream! They were shipwrecked! All she saw was chaos, broken bits and pieces everywhere. She had to get to the surface! She swam up and on her way she could taste blood in the water; ‘hopefully the sharks are asleep tonight’ she thought as she swam up. It seemed like ages but finally she got to the top. Soon as she took her first breath of air she realized just what a disaster this was; people screaming, others were dying, everything strewn all over, a right mess this was! A young man was pointing at her with a horrific look on his face, she followed his gaze and as soon as she realized what he was motioning at; it was too late! A cylindrical object came crushing down her head and she could feel herself sinking deeper and deeper into cold dark unconsciousness.
Sounds of the beach intruded in her dreams causing to awake; there she was lying on the beach with the waves crushing on her feet. And she had this massive headache, like a mallet pounding on her head!
“Argh! Where I’m I?” she wondered
Sitting up slowly, she scanned the area just to see a young man some meters away from her and clearly still unconscious. She willed herself to stand up and slowly walked over to him, it seemed like forever before she finally reached him then nudged him softly with her foot; he didn’t respond. She shoved him a bit harder and still no response! At this point knowing it was just too much energy to kneel down and wake him up yet getting a bit agitated by his unresponsiveness; she braced her self and gave a kick on his back side to which he woke up ready to fight!
He restrained himself and took a moment to gather his thoughts.
“You!” He exclaimed! “ I save your life and you repay me by kicking me around!”
“ Saved my life from what exactly?” She asked
“You really don’t remember getting shipwrecked and getting a parts of the mast land upon your head?” He got amused
“Well that explains the pains in my head!” She thought out loud “ so where are we?”
“Search me!” he teased “You’re the one who’s feeling at home and even kicking everything around this place!”
“So how about we take a walk around the place and discover where we are?” He asked her
“Might as well, It’ll be dark in a few hours” she replied “better get some shelter and a bite!”
“What’s your name?” he asked?
“I don’t have one!” she said, “ what’s your name?”
“What do you mean you don’t have one!” he mocked, “everyone has a name, even inanimate objects have names!”
“I just wasn’t given one,” she explained, “When the time is right I shall get it!”
“I think the blow to your head really messed you up but I’ll play along!” he continued mocking, “Oh by the way my name is Imani.”
“I’m just a girl” she said “Just a girl trying to find her path.”
He gave her a long searching look and he could see the sincerity in her eyes. So the walked about the beach studying the area till they found a path that lead into a forest; they followed the path for a couple of hours and it came into a bit of a clearing where other paths joined in; a sort of junction. The stood there arguing over which path to take while suddenly a reptilian creature flew over them and made the most horrid screams ever! Obviously shaken the both took for the forest to hide from this horrible creature! They ran till they came across a sort of Liana canopy that made a great hiding place! So under it they dove and waited. All seemed quiet for a while so they decided to come out and confirm that the creature was gone.
“What on earth was that?” The girl asked
“I have no idea” Imani mumbled, “ I think we need to get out of here”
“Its almost dark!” she shrieked! “Might as well spend the night and get going tomorrow.”
“I think we can make it back to the beach” he insisted, “I remember the way”
“Ok” we should rush then!
So they rushed through the peculiar jungle till the came to the clearing, at the clearing he seemed to hesitate at first then he took up one of the paths!
“I don’t think we came this way” she aired he concerns! “Nothing looks familiar!”
“All I see is plants and bugs!” he retorted “it looks quite familiar to me, so lets keep going!”
She was just about to put up a fight when they had the most melodious voice beckon them!
“She’s right you know,” said the voice “ you are going the wrong way”
“Who’s there?” Imani asked in a very shaky voice
Then an unbelievably gorgeous lady popped out from behind the thicket! She spoke tenderly in a voice so melodious and her eyes we a strange shade of grey; as if she could see into ones soul! And this being the peculiar forest, our gorgeous lady was obviously in her birthday suit!
“I think you forgot your cloths,” yelled the girl
“I don’t understand”, Said the lady “ what is this about cloths?”
“They are used to cover ones nakedness!” responded the girl
“We have no need for that here, you should try it sometime” said the lady “ anyway, I can show you the way out of here”
“What’s you name?” asked Imani
“They call me Lithia” rolled out the response sweetly
“See, even the strange lady has a name,” teased Imani
“Can we get going before it gets any darker?” The girl insisted!
The urgency in her voice was well clear! As they walked; a familiar feeling came over her, that gut feeling with all the warning bells ringing. She had a battle within herself; knowing her instincts are always right but trying to be the accommodating lost visitor who needs to be directed in this endless jungle! So she walked along knowing that at any moment something rather surprising will jump out and attack them.
As the walked deeper into the woods it got much darker! She couldn’t contain herself anymore.
“Lithia I have a feeling that this is not the way out!” She said
“Oh you worry too much” responded Lithia
“I refuse to go any further” The girl insisted
“Come on you can’t turn back now,” said Imani
“Yes I can” Said the girl “You just watch me”
As soon as she took a few steps back, Lithia pounced at her in a manner so unnatural! My goodness the woman sprouted wings and scales due to the rush of a kill!
“Oh my goodness” Yelled Imani, “you’re the creature!”

The Sunstone

Have you heard all the hullabaloo about the end of the world as we know it? Some prophesy that will come to pass and rock our world in the process! Me thinks it’s highly intriguing that the masses are obsessing about it yet every day we come face to face with death; those of us who survive can only be so grateful, yet when we lose a loved one it shakes us and changes the world as we know it. Then again, do we not have natural disasters and wars happening all the time since the beginning of time? Have you heard about the end of the world? I have. I think it’s highly amusing then again; I’m a notorious under reactor! Or maybe I’m just distracted by more important things such as the great search for the elements.

You see while we were all getting intrigued by our end, adventure was being brewed in another corner of the world; When we all focused on the falling apart of our universe, somebody else was busy trying to restore order and save the day! A girl is relentlessly searching for the elements to strike a balance in nature. A journey of solitude that knows no end; the hunt for the elements that lay waiting for their seeker! It starts with, the sunstone; a fragment of the sun on earth. Imagine its power over humanity; a sunstone to ignite our souls.

“Great! Of all possible places to put the stone; you felt the need to hide it over 2,400m a.s.l!” thought the girl as she forged through the thick rain forest at the base of the mountain.
She walked for days through the hills and valleys of this gorgeous mountain. It’s a wonderful thing, this mountain; three million year old and home to all sort of creatures- flora and fauna alike! Such a fantasy to see such clear unadulterated streams! Just a sip of their water rushes forth to heal the body and calm the soul! And the view of the heavens in the night is totally gorgeous. Seems so close to the moon that she wanted to reach out and touch it! “Sigh! Imagine touching the silver moon while still rooted to the earth! That would be something. Then again I must be coming down with a serious case of ‘the altitude high’, I hear the fresh thin mountain air has a way of elevating one’s conscious levels” , thought the girl smiling to herself.

Suddenly, there was a swift movement; caught from the corner of her eye! Like a black robe rushing through the vegetation! She scanned the area keenly but couldn’t see a thing! “Mmmh, maybe it’s just another case of the altitude high” she tried to convince herself.

Deep down she knew she wasn’t alone; all the bones in her body were screaming cautions out loud! What to do but stay waiting to strike whatever is hunting her down. Not that it came as a surprise, it’s common knowledge that when one is about to do something great, something that will change the world; dark forces rush in to arrest development! One just has to have the courage to stay strong and fight them one by one or in groups; we can never be too sure of their manifestation!

Only a girl would allow herself to be lulled into a sweet snooze by the sound of nature even when danger was clearly looming about! Dagger at hand she smoothly slipped into unconsciousness for a while; in her slumber she walked around the rocks of the mountain, through some scree and up a cave, it didn’t look like much to start with but as she went deeper there was a tapping noise; drops of water drumming on the floor of the cave. And there were paintings on the cave; something archaic, little stick people and their animals going about their business. Their whole lifestyle show cased on the wall of this cave. As she went along it fingers caressing this master piece form the past; Spirit getting connected to her ancestors. She got to this drawing with the stick people bowed down in worship and at its corner there was a small crystal disc embedded to the wall. The disc is what they bowed to! Running her fingers along the wall she got to the disc; at first some resistance to touch it but quickly desire over powered hesitation. She ran her finger over the disc tracing along its edges, for some reason she felt surges through her body like fireworks at a parade! Suddenly the disc turned to gold, a dazzling light from it; as if the sun had risen from the rock! So much energy was released it threw her to the ground!

An experience so startling that she jumped back into full consciousness! Soon as she opened her eyes, she came face to face with glazed eyes hidden deep inside a hood of a black flowing cloak; not even a moment to recover from her visions!

“Where is it?” asked supreme darkness

“Where is what?” the girl responded

“Do not waste my time” retorted supreme darkness as he glided across the ground!

She could barely hide he surprise when she realized that he wasn’t even walking! He was levitated a foot above the ground hence how he smoothly glided over to her in a manner so sinister!

“Where is it?” his tone laced with impatience.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about” she insisted.

From the black flowing cloak came a boney hand with long black witchy nails that found their spot on her temple and she could feel her energy getting siphoned by this sinister darkness! She quickly walled up some resistance to him as she swung her blade across his chest! It sliced through him well deep, this was enough to disrupt his little soul stealing tricks but she couldn’t help but notice there was no blood! Not even a drop! She jumped up to her feet and took off, as she disappeared round the corner she glances back and noticed that Supreme evil didn’t care for a chase though he could clearly fly after her!

She kept up with the pace; every step she took connected her to the path, a feeling of déjà vu came over her. She knew this path. She felt so close to it. Her feet seemed to speed up in manner so unnatural! It’s crazy that she had this pace 5000m a.s.l, the air so thin and cold but she was determined to get there! Over the rocks, past the scree and there it was; the cave from her dream! She made up an anchor and climbed up to the cave and just as it had appeared to her; drops drumming, paintings on the wall, fingers running across the wall and finally the disc! She ran her fingers around its edges and just like in her dream it connected to her spirit causing it to dazzle like the sun rise, only this time instead of throwing her off; it embedded itself on her palm! This must be what they mean by spiritual ecstasy! A feeling so overwhelming; like the universe was rushing into her at the speed of light, she knew things and she could feel some awesome power manifesting inside of her!
A sunstone to ignite our souls!

When it was over, she felt extremely serene and judging from the sounds around her she could tell the sun had taken over the sky. She started to walk out of the cave and as she made a turn she noticed a familiar gaze posed on the walls of the cave.

“Not you again!” she hissed!

He charged towards her and she instinctively raised her palm towards him, she felt volts rushing through her palm turning supreme evil into dust! “wow”! I could get used to this; she smiled to herself as she charged for the exit! She was right; the golden sun was gliding across the sky dazzling everything on its path! “Anything is possible under the sun” she thought to herself as she cut across the hills and valleys!

The mountain is in deed an awesome creature; she must be a woman;because only a woman would make you imagine that you’ve conquered her and just as you’re about to celebrate she unleashes another range of hills to keep you in check! On and on she forged and after the last hill she could see the Met station, an indication that the gate was just around the corner! She rushed past the river crossing, past the met station, past the gulley and Old Moses down into the forest from where she could see the gate.

"The mountain is a place of many secrets and adventures! It’s a place of rebirth and renewal. The mountain is my temple; a place of solitude with ruins about it but the gods and other spirits; mine included are rife in every corner! It only awaits a seeker to go discover their calling!" She thought to herself.

Soul ignited, Sunstone at hand; now off to the depths of the sea to track down The Moonrock; A Moonrock to unlock the mind...

Give a Woman A Break!

Only a mother can be a loving yet fierce warrior!
She does whatever it takes to protect her own,
Even in the face of glaring death,
She does not fret…

Earlier today, my mother was robbed at gun point!
Three men needed to be armed to the tooth;
To forcefully rob a middle aged woman!
Thank God she survived the attack.

I’ve had it with men all over acting like animals!
Grow a pair and a brain to compliment the pair,
How do you expect to be respected, when all day;
You just push women around!

This is my mother land; key word being 'mother',
Yet a woman cannot feel safe in her own skin,
Let alone her house, neighborhood or country!
This is simply too much to bear…

When they are not trying to kill you,
Then they’re busy robbing from you,
Tearing the life you’ve built apart,
Taking from you…forcefully!

I think that we girls should stick together,
Advice and take care of each other,
Look out for each other,
And love each other.

This is a celebration of all mothers,
Without you; we wouldn’t be,
Thanks to you; we survived,
This is a celebration of women!

RAIN DROPS

Rain drops tapping on my window,
So sweet is their rhythmic sound,
That drowns the screams away.

Rain drops drumming on the ground,
Little puddles that sooth my feet,
This lonely path knows no end.

Rain drops streaming down my face,
Nature’s gold sipping through my skin,
Wash away the tears & refresh my soul.

Rain drops sneaking down my bosom,
See them rush down my back,
This euphoria is contagious!

Rain drops bursting all over the place,
My walk broke into a sprint of passion;
I sprouted wings and flew off to paradise!

A MOMENT OF SILENCE

Everyday Kenyans die,
May they rest in peace.

Today, Kenyans died;
At the same spot,
On the same day,
In the same way...

This has happened for the last three years!

Coincidence?

Melodic Memories

This song
It takes me back
Back to those days
Those chilled out days
Life was a breeze
No hustles; No problems
So blissful; so sweet
Unadulterated sweetness
Miniskirts and skinny jeans
Smiles and smooches
Huffin’ and puffin’
Drinks on the daily
The never ending party

This song
It takes me back
To the gaze of your eyes
To the melody of your voice
To the scent of your being
To the warmth of your arms
To the sweetness of your lips
The caress of your breath
The intensity of your passion

This song,
It blows my mind!
Or should I say,
The memories of you;
Wrapped in this song
Blow my mind!

Love and Other Elements

Soul of mine wonders off
To fetch my spirit song
In gust she rushes
Caresses his spirit
Returns the favour with warm embraces
So sweet is the rhythm
That his heart drums
So electrifying, the feeling
Magnetic forces drawing
Our souls together
To interact,dance & intertwine,
Raw and untamed; is this energy …
Your charms; so intoxicating
Your eyes; they hypnotize me
This madness; so infectious
My sanity smoothly usurped!
Disarmed me with your gaze
Rays of love dancing upon me
So brilliant is their glow
Sparks evolve into fires
Hear the passionate crackles
Of this raging flames
Sanctify me with your love
No longer can I fight it!

Misguided passions!

So this where it all leads?
All those paths to the ‘promised land’
My boots are worn out and so dust; my spirit slowly dwindling
This portrait they painted in my mind; is anything but forthcoming
An illness of the mind! Nothing but delusions and hallucinations
It must be the fairy tales! The soap operas too
And those amazing movies; lies! All lies…
I’ve been brain washed by the box!

I now find myself at this crossroads
Wondering if I took a wrong turn somewhere!
People must get lost all the time trying to find their promised land
Plus I suppose my map reading skills are also a bit off
So here I am in this lonely place
Trying to rationalize all the ‘uninformed decisions’
And possible wrong turns I may have taken
Maybe a drink will help lubricate my train of thought
I suppose the cogs and bolts need some oiling
What better to do the job than some liquor!
Off to the ‘watering hole’!

Denial is a sweet paradise
Some of that drunken advice & sharing
To lift your spirit and revive your zeal for life
That moment when you realize you’re not alone
In your lost and confused path to the ‘promised land’
Yes I’ll definitely drink to ‘safety in numbers’
Why not drown my sorrows in the bottle
Wake up the next morning feeling dead
Cry a river and drown myself in it too
Pray and wait in baited breath for a miracle
Or some of that manna from heaven!

In addition to being lost and confused,
I’m now broke, hungry and hanged over!
On the bright side my friends from the watering hole
Were ‘philanthropic’ enough to allow me,
My phone and my wallet enjoy a longer relationship
*How unnatural *
Get distracted for a split second and you’ll be robbed blind!
Those bastards would even steal you and sell you to the pirates!
*sigh* (back to my current situation)

Now that I’m lost, confused, hunger, broke and sickly
And I’m done drowning in my own tears
Mostly because the part of my memory
That isn’t totally erased from last night’s debauchery
Keeps reminding me that after the drunk sharing and advice session
My zeal was revived and my-promised land-map-reading skills refreshed!
It’s time to take the courageous thirty minute cold shower
That will hopefully wake you remaining cells!
Learn from the past; shine ‘em boots and keep walking
The simple truth is: life will give you blow after blow
The most important bit; is the part where you stand up
Dust yourself and move along swiftly; as if nothing happened…
Hopefully you’re keen enough to see the next blow
Before it land squarely on your face!
How sweet it is to be fully immersed in this life;
Such a joy to drown willingly in its passions …

The NEWS & Other Horrors!

So this is what we've been reduced to; People who watched their nation fall apart! or are we just generally in denial? I think that we just stopped caring! Today I watched the most horrific show; it's known as the NEWS: I learned some grim fact about my country:

In the year 2012 some Kenyan children were learning under trees & rocks! In response to this issue the relevant leaders, such as;Alfred Khang'ati, didn't seem to understand the gravity of the matter and even proceeded to state that he didn't in fact think it was a big deal that the kids are studying under a rock because he too studied under a tree! Please note that the guy wan born in 1954 meaning he was studying under a tree in the late 1950s, we are in 2012 and he thinks this is in order! It's no surprise that his constituencies CDF performance is so suspect; http://info.mzalendo.com/person/alfred-khangati/

We have leaders saying that it's not about the money its the alarming rise in population;granted that our population growth rate of 10% while the economic growth is only at 4%! keep in mind that not to long ago the IEBC asked for 31.5 Billion to fund the coming elections! Talk about misplaced priorities! Mean while, the men in fancy suits insist on constructing a road in our precious national park!!! The saddest bit is the child in a in a christian school in Kasarani, who was made to drink a cup full of his classmates saliva! eeewww! That teacher should be jailed! And as if this is not enough; some poor calf was today buried alive in Murang'a in a bid to appease the spirit of a dead man; who in my opinion, is simply greedy and vindictive! Wanting a replacement cow as one died on its way to pay his nieces bride price! And that family, did it really have to end like that?! Imagine how confused and scared the poor calf was getting buried alive! I wonder what went down when they met up in the after life!

The news today was in deed a painful experience! As we sit back and watch a few insensitive people set our nation ablaze; we must ask ourselves- is this the nation we want to live in? Why do we let a few greedy yet thick people misuse us like this?!

WE ARE THE CLAN!

We are the children,
we are the generation,
we are the clan!

We think outside the box,
We love our precious lives,
We are ever so grateful,
We face our challenges so boldly!
We take it a notch higher on the daily,
We work hard and play even harder!
We chop and burn monotony down,
We celebrate life and dance under the moon,
We are lovers not fighters or fuckers even,
We eat this life with the biggest spoon around!

We came to live, dance and speak our minds,
We came to spark excitement to a dull world,
We came to plant love bulbs in all souls!
We came to energize the weary and tired,
We came to learn from our mistakes,
We came to heal those shattered heart!
We came to find the path the the light,
We came to enlighten the people,

We are just but simple lovers!
We make a life worth living,
We are the children,
We are the generation,
We are indeed the clan,
We are the clan!!!

The Friday demons

Thursday at the stroke of midnight
They come rushing from the pits of hell
To prepare us for the festival ahead
Innocently we awake to toil
As soon as the clock strikes three
They mingle among us unseen but felt
Temperatures are rising
The patience slowly wearing off...
The sun departs, the moon lights our hearts
Looking delicious
Scents so delightful
A toast to celebrate
Endless gulps to forget
Either way we're getting wasted
A puff of this
A sniff of that
There's cash to burn
Lies to utter
People to impress
Assets to move around
Dance yourself into a trance
Innocent souls generously misled
The rest of us fuel the Friday flames
Bohemian we are
Drunks, Brutes, Lost and Confused, Fornicators, Adulterers...
Oh did I forget the Innocent
This is our paradise
A toast to betraying those we love the most!
And another to hosting the Friday demons

Moon walking under the sun!

This is a celebration of Mondays:

The day that lies between Sunday and Tuesday,
The day that totally breaks my balls:
That 2am insomnia; endless tossing & turning
And then the early morning blues!Aaargh!
*the sunlight hurts my eyes*
darn it! I need me a mood enhancer! he he!

I'mma hit the snooze and steal 10 minutes,
Oh shit! I dozed off for 40 minutes,
Time to do the fast forward dance:
Jump outta bed & grab my towel,
While I'm at it, get the coffee going,
Brush my teeth on the way to the shower...

*That moment in a crisis when time slows down*
Dang! this shower feels good;
*sigh* I just wanna be in here all day...
But I cant! Step out of the shower,
face my closet... and nightmares simultaneously!!!
The horror! 90% of it is on the hanging line!
tic toc, tic toc...

Shut my eyes, grab anything and turn it into GOLD!
*As long as you smile; everything looks beautiful*
Step outta the door and be color-spectacular!
A walking piece of art...
None of that clashing colors politics!
Grab a ride and pray its running on jet fuel!
Finally get to work, albeit barely on time!

Acting all calm and collected...
After all "Life ain't an emergency!"
Access my emails; loading slowly...
Catch up with the workmates,
Answer some calls of 'great importance'
Go back to the already loaded emails-suddenly:

The Sun disappears, dark clouds ganging up!
The aftermath of my watering-hole escapades are grim!
Feels like memories from last week are malfunctioning!
*that moment when everything & everybody vanishes*
Then it feels like Monday just walked over to me;
grabbed me really tightly by the neck,
Bent me over then totally screwed me over!

Yes, a truly paralyzing moment!
When everything seems to be falling apart!
*Earth to girl*
Slowly coming back to reality,
Taking a breath and some hydrating liquids,
one task at time;smiling while I'm at it,
*sigh* Sun's back up,blues are vanquished,

This thing that the wise keep saying,
Its not the situation that matters;
It's the reaction that's key...
The liberation from mental slavery,
Oh, I'm walking on sun shine
Or maybe I'm moon walking;seeing its Monday :)

THE DAGGER & I

There's a dagger in my house,
A lovely collectors item,
A really fun toy to have around,
A great self defense partner!

There's a dagger under my dress,
only we can feel this skin to steel pleasure,
only a thorough frisk would worry me,
Only I hold the secrets of my steel companion.

There's a dagger in my heart,
To remind me how fragile love is,
To guard my heart from lying bandits,
To tame my wild ways and keep me in check.

There's a dagger in my soul,
It keeps my conviction ablaze,
It cuts me open and lets the love flow,
It has me glowing all day long.

There's a dagger in mouth,
I keep it sharp to strike at will,
I like it's clean cut work;no stutters,
I believe we need to speak out to save humanity.
